Description
There is a special place of unique perspectives, fascinating details, beautiful imagery and, most of all-- discovery. It is a world revealed using the methods of macro photography and its specialized techniques. This three-day, hands-on course is designed to give a through grounding in the methods and equipment needed to reveal the imagery of this miniature world. The various techniques covered include photographing with macro lenses of various focal lengths while controlling available light using reflectors and diffusers as well as single, multiple and ringlight flash techniques. Methods for dealing with wind, excessive contrast and obtaining proper camera perspectives in the field are covered along with a look at different tabletop macro techniques. In addition, the flatbed scanner as a close-up camera will also be explored. Digital SLR cameras are preferred for the advanced techniques covered. Contact the instructor for more details concerning equipment (joseph@josephmeehan.com). All of the techniques covered in the course are contained in the book: “The Magic of Close-Up Photography,” by Joseph Meehan.
