Day One

After basic camera skills, such as proper camera handling, care lens selection and use, auto focus and exposure are covered, you will move on, learning how to use the instant feedback of the digital camera to improve your photography. Color balance and histogram use in the field and in the lab will be covered. We will wade through the swamp of color space and color depth. Should you use jpeg or RAW files? Day Two

In this full-day digital darkroom seminar, you will learn to work with digital photographs or digital scans of existing film images to enhance, manage, color correct and print your images. This seminar covers in more depth, aspects of digital imaging that you will need to know to make the most of your photographs once they are in your computer.

Featured Photographers

Lewis Kemper specializes in nature and wildlife photography using 35mm and 4 x 5 cameras. He is a member of Canon’s Explorers of Light, a group of 60 of the country’s most influential photographers. His computer enhanced images have been used in advertisements, cards, bookmarks, and calendars throughout the world. He is a contributing editor to Outdoor Photographer and PC Photo magazines. His column Outdoor/Indoor in PC Photo, read by thousands of photographers, deals with the computer manipulation of outdoor images.

Jim Zuckerman left medical studies in 1970 to turn his love of photography into a career. He specializes in wildlife, nature and travel photography, and digital effects. Jim is contributing editor to Petersen’s PHOTOgraphic magazine, as well as the author of six books on photography. He has taught creative photography and led international photo tours to Burma, Thailand, China, Brazil, Eastern Europe, Spain, Alaska, Greece, and the American Southwest.

Fatima NeJame, Executive Director of the Palm Beach Photographic Centre for the past 20 years, has taught digital camera technology and Photoshop® since 1992. An expert in digital imaging, she has been working with computers since 1969. Fatima has been photographing exclusively with digital cameras for many years, and is a highly qualified instructor who lectures nationwide on digital photography.

George DeWolfe, has been a photographer since the middle 1960's. He studied photography with Ansel Adams and Minor White and perception with Dr. Richard Zakia. He holds an MFA in Photography and Graphic Art from the Rochester Institute of Technology and has published three books. He has exhibited widely and is in several permanent collections. George currently consults for Epson and other digital and ink-jet companies, andi is contributing editor to View Camera magazine.
